Riotgear (G1)

Riotgear is a former Decepticon and current unaligned Transformer from the Last Bot Standing portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Characterization, baby!

Riotgear is the sort of 'bot who venerates his kind, and during a time where they're few and far between, he can become very excited at the prospect of finding a familiar face. Being a part of Steeljaw's group of remaining Transformers, he has taken to living off of biofuel, and unlike the others, has developed an eerie taste for having it raw.

He combines with some of his fellow survivors to form Unstoppimus, with him making up part of the right leg.

Last Bot Standing

In the far future, long after the end of the Great War between the Autobots and Decepticons had left the universe drained of energon, Riotgear fell under the command of ex-Decepticon Steeljaw. To survive, Steeljaw's forces reconfigured themselves to run on biofuel, a substance generated by the farming of organic matter. When the group touched down on planet Donnokt, Riotgear and Override were sent to search for Nitro after he himself had landed on the planet. Riotgear struggled with the process of transforming due to being so low on energy, but a few good kicks from his comrade seemed to do the trick, although Override did feel the need to remind him that they weren't close enough for this to be a frequent activity. When Override began raiding Nitro's stasis pod for some leftover biofuel, Riotgear snagged a couple of the locals to consume them raw. However, when Riotgear questioned them for as to where one of his own kind may be, the organics began to point towards the town of Fembrance, where Rodimus happened to be. Happy to find another like himself, Riotgear, with the help of Override, took the newly found Cybertronian back to their base. Rodimus was less than pleased to see other Transformers on the planet, and Riotgear was present to listen to his frustration, despite the fact that he had no idea who Rodimus even was. After Rodimus had collapsed due to a lack of energy, Riotgear took to discussing with Scylla and Wedge about the unfortunate state of their new arrival. When Wedge explained that Rodimus was upset at the group due to their tendency to convert organic beings, the kind that the likes of Rodimus used to befriend, into biofuel, Riotgear asserted that interacting with organics was perverse. Upon the arrival of the Veteran to their camp during their conversation, Riotgear kneeled in respect along with his comrades. He was then ordered by Steeljaw to help transport the "husbandry paddocks" so that they could breed the locals. Once they reached Fembrance, they saw Nitro's corpse, which Riotgear at first attributed to the locals. When a reenergized Rodimus caught up to their group, Riotgear was originally under the impression that his newfound vigor must have come from a consumption of biofuel, but that idea was shot down by Override as he was still holding the resource in his hands before Steeljaw announced that Rodimus had been hiding a secret from all of them. After it was found that Rodimus had been hiding energon, the pack's hunger for true fuel caused them to charge Steeljaw for the energon keys, accidentally shattering one. After Shib Wallkis used the distraction to free the organics and Steeljaw and Sharpclaw had gone off, the rest of the pack combined into Unstoppimus to hold off Rodimus but their fuel starved state allowed Rodimus to quickly behead their combined form, the shock sending them into stasis lock. After Rodimus had defeated Steeljaw, he turned what remained of the visitors' ship into an orbiting pod, locking Riotgear and the other survivors in stasis as he kept a solitary watch on them.
