Scatterspike (RID)

Scatterspike is a Decepticon from the Robots in Disguise portion of the Aligned continuity family

Will eventually be replaced by her son, Scatterdaniel.

Scatterspike is the rowdiest, quick-slingin'est member of them Scavengers. There's nothin' in life that she likes more than gettin' her paws on some good ol' fashioned Autobot salvage, even if it means tunnelin' through a whole mountain's worth o' dirt and muck and what have ya. Any dadburned claim-jumpers in the area know better than to try and tangle with Scatterspike, as they'll wind up with a mess o' her spines in their armor. Her quills have all kinds o' wild effects capable of hornswogglin' any of the varmits she deals with, just like some other feller.

As o' late, she's been workin' with the Mini-Con Sawtooth, although the li'l critter's a bit too yellow-bellied for her rootin', tootin', tastes–prone to runnin' when the going gets hard and suchlike.

Aiming to find a big haul, Scatterspike and Sawtooth headed to Mount St. Hilary, location of the first Autobot base on Earth, and set about drilling. The operation was stumbled on by Strongarm and Fixit, though the two scavengers both immediately got the drop on them. When the Autobots persisted, Scatterspike hit Strongarm with her quills, only for Strongarm to become magnetized, sticking the two foes together. The fight spilled out into a nearby human settlement, causing Strongarm to have to explain Scatterspike as construction equipment. When it turned out the drilling was causing the volcano to become unstable, Strongarm finished the fight quickly by cuffing Scatterspike. Sawtooth was later able to free her, and in return when they returned to the other Scavengers in their ship, Scattertooth blamed their lack of success on the Mini-Con. Strongarm's Big Score

She and the other Scavengers tracked a signal to an automated vessel, where they found the Dark Star Saber, only for the Mini-Cons to run off in their sub-orbital craft, and for Starscream to arrive and claim the sword, using it to sweep them all into the sea. Mighty Big Trouble Searching to reclaim the Mini-Cons, the scavengers found their quarry had teamed up with Optimus Prime and Team Bee. Using the relics they'd recovered, the scavengers were able to hold their own, until they succeeded in trapping the Autobots in a net, only for Starscream to swoop in and snatch up the Mini-Cons. Mini-Con Madness Thanks to Thermidor, the Autobots escaped their net and, with some help from Tricerashot, defeated the Scavengers and put them in restraints; they were then secured by Optimus Prime aboard his ship for transport back to Cybertron and justice. Part of the eighth wave of Robots in Disguise Warrior Class toys (during the line's second-year "Mini-Con Weaponizers" branding), Scatterspike is a redeco of Quillfire, transforming from a spiky porcupine-like Decepticon into an off-road vehicle. She does not, alas, feature a new head to match her character model, instead retaining Quillfire's. But she does keep the posable jaw, which is fun.

She includes a small non-firing blaster weapon which stores under her vehicle mode's back end, as well as a single quill which she can either hold in her hand or plug into her back with a solid-molded array of quills.

Notes

• In the Italian, Chinese and French dubs, Scatterspike was turned into a male for unknown reasons.
