Talk:Optimus Prime (WFC)/toys
From Transformers Wiki
i was hoping to find some more information here about some Rescue Bots i saw at the store today. They had robot modes based on G1 or Rescue Bots Optimus (especially the deco), but with a beast mode like a Tyrannosaurus Rex (kind of like Beast Wars Megatron with the dino-head for a right hand, a drill-like tail for a left hand, and using the same legs in both modes). At least two size classes used this design. Anyone know enough about these figures to add them to the article here? --Rhymus (talk) 23:06, 7 March 2015 (EST)
- Just glanced at Optimus_Prime_(WFC)#Rescue_Bots_cartoon, Land Before Prime (episode), Land Before Prime (book), and Big Game, so almost certainly the toys i saw were based on those storylines, but those articles show Tyrannosaurus Prime with windows on his beast mode chest, while the toys i saw had the robot's chest windows on the beast mode's side, similar to Backstop (Cybertron) (if Backstop had windows on his chest in robot mode). --Rhymus (talk) 00:14, 8 March 2015 (EST)
Did ANY of the Optimus toys based on the Transformers:Prime TV series come with a removable (or any for that matter) Matrix of Leadership with the figure (besides the weird SDCC thing)? The show featured the Matrix in a number of its story arcs, but I can't seem to identify a single Prime mold from the series that has one in the chest. Am I missing this somewhere? Merch?
Is it time to separate Merchandise from Toys, onto its own page? TGB (talk) 08:04, 10 November 2020 (EST)
Swapped wheels on Gamer Edition?
Why did someone write that Gamer Edition Op Prime has swapped wheels? It mentions a detail that's supposed to face up, but the wheels are the same on both sides. It doesn't make a difference if you swap them. And the user who added that bit didn't supply a source to verify anything either. Is it safe to remove this text? - On close examination I see the tread patterns on the wheels aren't the same on both sides. So the wheels actually are "one side only" intended pieces. I was still a little skeptical about there being a misassembly, but then I checked my Fractured Friendship Optimus. His wheels are put on the opposite sides versus Gamer Edition Optimus. This means one of them must be misassembled. So I arrived at the conclusion that Gamer Edition Op is likely the incorrectly assembled one.
