Terradive (TF 2010)
From Transformers Wiki
The name or term "Terradive" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Terradive (disambiguation). |
- Terradive is a Decepticon from the movie continuity family (via the 2010 Transformers toyline).
Terradive delights in using every dirty trick to claim victory against the Autobots, even destroying human landmarks to distract them. The only thing he likes more is claiming all the glory for said victory. He's quite skilled in personal combat, as well; he is highly adept in the use of his trident, although he'll lose his nerve if he's disarmed. His fellow Decepticons secretly loathe him, except for his only friend Jetblade. Terradive won't hesitate to use his naive admirer as cannon fodder if the situation warrants it, but he truly does appreciate Jetblade's friendship.[1]
With Jetblade, Terradive has hidden amongst Earth aircraft, but when they spot the slow-moving Tomahawk, the temptation to strike may just be too strong for a glory hound like Terradive to resist.[2]

Fiction
Unite for the Universe
When Starscream used the Unite process to power himself up and take command of the Decepticons, Megatron moved in to stop the usurper, but since he wasn't an idiot, he had backup standing by. This proved to be a smart move, as Optimus Prime and a squad of Autobots moved in to not only stop Starscream but to keep Megatron from learning the secrets of Unite himself. While the two leaders tussled, Terradive, Skywarp, Insecticon, and Hailstorm moved in to handle the other Autobots. They all retreated when Starscream was neutralized and the Unite components fried beyond recovery by Ratchet. The Strongest Weapon

Toys
Transformers (2010)
- Terradive (Deluxe Class, 2010)
- Japanese ID number: AA-14
- Accessories: Trident/Spear
- Known designers: Andrew Scribner (deco artist)
- Hunt for the Decepticons Terradive transforms into a forward-swept wing fighter jet based on the Sukhoi Su-47. In robot mode, he is armed with a polearm weapon, which can transform between a trident and a spear and stores via C joint clip on his underside in jet mode, or on the back of his left shoulder in robot mode. (This clip is a bit of a reversal from the norm, as the clip is permanently attached to the robot, and the spear weapon is the 3mm bar.) As his jet thrusters swing around to become his hands, they can be left in vehicle configuration to simulate movie-style blasters.
- The trident's middle hinge is prone to breakage thanks to the incredibly thin plastic having tolerance issues. It's probably not Gold Plastic Syndrome despite the trident being made of metallic gold plastic because it snaps off rather than crumbling into dust, but be careful.
- The TakaraTomy version of Terradive has red stripes on his wings rather than white.
- This toy doubles as the Generation 1 character Terradive. This mold was redecoed into Timelines Depth Charge, Timelines Starscream, and Dark of the Moon Space Case, the latter of which sports the alternate head sculpt that was already depicted in Terradive's instructions.
