Transformers
As far as my experience with Transformers, well, it was pretty limited. G1 was pretty much wrapped up before I was even born, but I did have a few G2 figures and I did see some G1 reruns on the Sci-Fi Channel. Then Beast Wars came along, and that's what got me interested in Transformers, or at least in the cartoons. After Beast Wars wrapped up, I didn't pay much attention until Armada started, then I stopped watching again when that ended, but I did end up seeing the live-action movie and now I'm watching Animated regularly.
As for my favorite animated series, I'd have to say it's Beast Wars. Sure, G1 has all of those iconic characters, but at times, things seemed to get a little muddled (due to the large cast), while Beast Wars kept things a little simpler, allowing for broader character development. Animated seems to be shaping up pretty well too, combining some reinventions of classic G1 characters with the small cast dynamic that made Beast Wars enjoyable for me.
