The Veiled Threat
The Decepticons lured Optimus, Ironhide, and Ratchet into the Zambezi, intending to hold them there until they went over Victoria Falls. With the help of the human members of the team, Ironhide and Ratchet escaped that fate, but Optimus plunged over thanks to Macerator, and was only saved by the teamwork of the other Autobots present. 2005 IDW continuity
Following Unicron's destruction of Cybertron, Optimus Prime, Metroplex, and the remaining inhabitants of Iacon were teleported to Earth and wound up on the banks of Victoria Falls. Road's End The falls subsequently became the primary base of Cybertronian operations against Unicron, A Sunrise Dark until the arrival of Unicron's Maximals prompted Metroplex to abandon the falls and teleport into Earth's orbit in anticipation of the final battle.
