Throughout the Series
In Welcome to Bardo, while posing as Daniel Lee to talk the Faithful down, John Murphy is enraged to discover them about to sacrifice Lee in their efforts to force "Russell's" release. Murphy enters the tavern to save Lee, even though this takes him out of Indra's line of cover. Murphy angrily confronts Jeremiah who admits that he doesn't want to sacrifice his son. Murphy sends Jeremiah and Lee to safety, blowing his own cover in the process. In Nakara, Jeremiah thanks Murphy for saving his son. In A Little Sacrifice, a badly injured Jeremiah requests that Murphy take care of Lee if he dies, but Murphy reassures the man that he will make it. Jeremiah and Lee later join Murphy's group hiding in the reactor room and Murphy reassures the young boy that they are safe as he has sealed the reactor room door. In The Stranger, Lee sits with Rex, Madi Griffin and Luca against a wall. When a traumatized Luca refuses to eat, Madi says that they won't either then and starts explaining how she didn't eat for two weeks after the death wave. Lee questions what the death wave is, leading Madi to explain. Madi convinces Luca to eat and allow Madi, Rex and Lee to help him with his grief as Luca's friends. In Blood Giant, Lee protests Madi and Luca petting Picasso, but Madi recognizes that the boy wants to join in. Lee pets the dog as well and suggests that she too is hungry. Lee later stands with his father as the Sanctum bugs kill Knight and the other two men trying to break in and as Murphy enters.
