These are the rules enforced everywhere on this wiki. You are required to follow them in order to remain an active member on the wiki.
COPPA
In accordance to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), users under the age of 13 are not allowed to edit on the wiki. If a user is revealed to be underage, please report it to an administrator with evidence. An underage user will be blocked until they are of legal age to contribute (13 or older).
If anyone wishes to discuss these rules and any changes, please post a discussion addressing the issue.
General Rules of the Wiki
- This wiki is based on a children's franchise, so swearing has to be kept low.
- Excessive cursing will result in warnings, and banning is a likelihood if users continue to swear after being warned.
- Likewise, no mature-rated material, imagery or otherwise, is allowed on the wiki.
- The age of all editors must comply with the age allowed when you sign up for Fandom's membership agreement. If you are underage, you will be reported to the Fandom staff.
- Bullying is not allowed, from either editors, commentators or even from staff. In the case of the first two, report incidents as soon as possible to the message walls of the current wiki staff. In the case of the staff being at fault, please try to highlight their behavior. If not, then please report this to Fandom itself.
- No cussing. Any sort of impolite behavior like threatening one's safety, foul words, profanity, and derogatory terms will not be tolerated in any form and will result in a 3-month block. If you see such, undo their edit and please report to the wiki staff as soon as possible.
- No hacking. Do not use hacking of any type, not even for something little. If you want to do it to edit a protected page that you cannot edit normally, message staff for permission.
- Vandalism, trolling, spamming, discriminative, and not safe for work (NSFW) content are all strictly prohibited.
- Discriminative content includes hate speech, ethnic slurs, or any hateful action directed towards people based on their orientation, gender, race, etc.
- Not safe for work (NSFW) content includes sexual or explicit content. Generally, anything that would be disallowed in a school or workplace.
- Discussions about NSFW topics can be made if it is done in the context of science, such as human anatomy. Keep in mind that admins are allowed to shut down these conversations at any time.
- Avoid multiple posting (posting on the same thread immediately after you just posted), as this is disruptive and a form of spamming; say what you want to say in a single post, and then give others a chance to respond.
- Ways to avoid multiple-posting:
- 1) Don't post until you have put all of your thoughts into your post.
- 2) If you think of more thoughts, then just edit your post and add them in, so it's all in one.
- 3) Wait until someone else replies, then you can post again.
- Ways to avoid multiple-posting:
- Please report vandalism to an admin if it has not already been dealt with. It is also highly appreciated for any user to help and undo vandalistic edits.
- As a basic precaution, unless an edit is blatant vandalism, please assume the edits that a user makes are in good faith.
- If you notice a vandal has been vandalizing pages from multiple wikis across Fandom, consider reporting it to the Volunteer Spam Task Force (VSTF).
- Please avoid necroposting. When a user posts a reply on an old post for which the conversation is no longer active, it is considered necroposting. Necroposting sends additional notifications to other users that were involved in the conversation a long time ago, which can be an annoyance. A good rule-of-thumb is that a post older than 2 weeks is a dead post. If you would like to revive the conversation, please generate a new post, and (if you like) you can copy and paste the link for the previous post within your new post, to show the connection.
- No fanart or personal imagery on pages. Try to keep all uploads related to the wiki. Articles of fanfictions and original characters ("OCs") are also not allowed.
- Note that our Discussions and Discord chat server are set up for handling fanarts and fanfictions.
- This is not an absolute ban for talk of fanart of any kind. We do encourage you share fanart even here on the wiki. However, please link to an image-hosting website or online gallery rather than uploading it here.
- Speculations, theories, fanfictions, OCs, etc. are also allowed on the wiki, but they must be kept off of pages. We have comment sections, blogs, Discussions, and a Discord chat server, all at your disposal for such things.
- Please only make helpful edits.
- We are a wiki about this kind of Troll, not any of these kinds of trolls among others.
- In the event of edit wars, pages will be locked and reverted to the last established "correct" version of the page. Users partaking in the edit war must provide a source to explain why their edit is the correct one. Failure to do so will impact which version stays.
- Other than the main Fandom website, this wiki is not associated with any other external website. Please do not use it as an advertising space.
- We are an unofficial wiki, built by fans who adore the DreamWorks Trolls franchise. No editor or fan should treat the wiki as though it is an official part of the DreamWorks Animation company. Please report any incidents of this.
- Also, this means we don't cover non-Trolls related material, even from other DreamWorks Animation licensed properties. However, other wikis will most likely exist to cover your favorite movie by DreamWorks Animation. We advise you to check them out!
- Roleplaying is not allowed anywhere except the "Fun & Games" category of the Discussions. Any accounts doing roleplay outside there will be warned and then banned if the owner does not comply with the request to cease roleplaying.
- Fanmade crossover works out of other franchises that are not related to Trolls are not allowed anywhere on the wiki. They will be deleted, and if the user who created them does not comply with the request to cease crossovers, they will be banned.
- The main policy page, all subject-specific policy pages, the Manual of Style and the Code of Conduct are considered guidelines on how the wiki is to be run.
- Always cross-reference a policy page if you have issues with the wiki.
- They are subject to change over time. This is simply because old approaches to ideas may not match newer editor ethnics.
- If you dispute any policy page, always bring the issue up in the Discussions.
Media Guidelines
Please upload only images, videos and other media intended for use and are useful for the purpose of the upload. Images in use on the wiki are considered "demonstrations" and not "decorations", and are not added to make the wiki look more attractive. Please read here for more information on uploading media.
The following is a list of advice for uploads:
- For character infoboxes, you should normally have a full-body image of the character to show fully what they look like, whenever such an image is available.
- Images of just body parts will be deleted. We need at least the head and shoulders of the character whenever possible for identification purposes.
- When uploading images, try to think of the positioning of characters on the image. If there is one or more characters in the image with their back turned to the camera, the image is not considered as good for the wiki's purposes as one where they are facing the viewer. While there are exceptions that may exist to this, most of the time it makes the image hard to find an use for.
- Too many images of the same moment in an installment are not that useful.
- If you think an image needs to be on the wiki but it has issues, bare in mind that you can crop the image to get only the part wanted.
