Miscellaneous

Trivia

  • Shirakawa is the only early MAC member character, aside from Gen Otori and Dan Moroboshi, who appears from the first episode through to episode 40 of the series.
  • Although Shirakawa's actress, Mieko Mita, has retired from acting, she still keeps in touch with other actors from the series, such as Tomoko Ai, who played Haruko Matsuki.[3]
  • According to a joint interview with Mita and Tomoko Ai in 2013:[4]
    • Mita initially performed with the Mashina Star Troupe while also participating in a theater group. Later, she received an offer to appear in a TV drama, prompting her to leave the troupe to focus on her new role. She subsequently joined an agency, and Ultraman Leo became her first major role in a television series.
    • When asked about wearing the MAC uniform, Mita shared her thoughts on its design. At the time, mini-skirts were in vogue, and she found the uniform quite cute. Considering the typical designs seen in past Ultraman series, this aesthetic was indeed unexpected. However, she discovered the uniform was highly impractical. Made from thick felt-like fabric, it lacked elasticity and was difficult to move in. Furthermore, the actors had to wear a bodysuit-like garment underneath, adding to the discomfort.
  • In a 2024 interview, Mita reflected on her experience working on Ultraman Leo. She mentioned that, since Shirakawa was an internal member responsible for communication duties, she had fewer opportunities for external activities and combat scenes. Mita shared that she had been a gymnast in high school and later studied jazz and classical dance, so she felt confident in her physical abilities. She expressed some regret over Shirakawa's limited action scenes in the series.[5][6][7]
