Ze Su Gate is an artificial wormhole that appears in Ultraman Arc. In the series, the wormhole, after being sealed by Rution, manifested as a solid object possessing incredible amounts of energy, named Onyx by human scientists. [1][2]
History
Past
In a distant galaxy, light-years away, the advanced civilizations of one star system faced the prospect of total annihilation due to the expansion of their sun, the Star Sonia . The leaders of each planet convened to discuss this dire matter. Among them was a leader named Ze Su , who, through collaborative brainstorming, developed the "Ze Su Gate." This wormhole consisted of an entrance and several exits, capable of absorbing Sonia’s excess energy and releasing it into other galaxies.
Unfortunately a problem arose, for whatever reason one of the exit points was in the solar system near Earth. If this energy were to be released, Earth would be instantly incinerated. Upon learning that this planet harbored life, the other leaders elected to halt the use of the gate until a better solution could be found. However, Ze Su remained resolute, and activated the gate despite protests.
In response, the other leaders dispatched the giant of light, "Rution," to Earth to seal the exit of the Ze Su Gate. In response, Ze Su sent Monogelos to stop him and the two fought within the Ze Su Gate. Rution sealed the gate exit, transmuting it into the form a dark sphere. however, Monogelos' relentless attacks cause both fighters to plummet to Earth crashing in Hoshimoto City in Japan. The Ze Su Gate landed in the Kitsunegamori Forest to the east of Hoshimoto City, becoming buried underground. The GDF would designate it as CODENAME: ONYX, and due to the gravitational waves and high energy particles generated upon its collision with Earth disrupted the geomagnetic field, awakening ancient kaiju that had lain dormant since time immemorial. This event became known as "K-DAY," marking the onset of a series of monster-related disasters on Earth. Despite knowing this the GDF were never able to pinpoint its exact location, due to the electromagnetic waves it generates interferring with any search attempt.
Given its extremely dangerous nature, the concern arose that information leaks could incite public panic. Ergo the GDF designated Onyx as a secret of the highest order, while they searched for it, concluding its general area, but could not locate it until better search techniques/technology were developed.
Ultraman Arc
Years later, as the energy storage capacity of Onyx approached its limit and the release of electromagnetic waves increased, the GDF analyzed the situation and concluded that a continuous influx of "cosmic energy" into Onyx had brought its energy storage near saturation. Once this limit is reached, it could unleash destructive power comparable to a supernova explosion.
With Hoshimoto City becoming a persistent hotspot for monster incidents in Japan, alongside the occurrences involving Digelos and the giant "Ultraman Arc," the GDF suspected that Onyx was located somewhere within the city. Three months later, Shu Ishido was dispatched to the area to assist local SKIP members and conduct an investigation to locate Onyx. Arc to the Future
Under the influence of Onyx, numerous anomalous kaiju events began to manifest in Hoshimoto City:
- The energy of Onyx awakened dormant kaiju lying beneath Hoshimoto City, such as Leodo and Livyjira.Legend in the WoodsOcean on the Mountain Ridge

- The energy from Onyx not only affected Earth but also distorted time and space, even connecting signals from alien planets light-years away. This phenomenon attracted Noiseler to descend upon Earth. To My Distant Friend
- After detecting the reaction of Onyx, a group of Alien Croco collecting mushrooms on Earth sensed the danger and immediately fleed the planet. Welcome to the Akebono Inn
- The energy of Onyx attracted Givas, which was in search of new energy sources. Givas viewed this energy as a second "Mujari." You Are Givas
Through analysis, it was eventually confirmed that Onyx was located in the Kitsunegamori Forest in the eastern part of the city. At the same time, an alien named Sweed arrived on Earth alongside Zadime, ultimately revealing the buried Onyx deep within Kitsunegamori Forest. Flash of the Past
Upon learning of this, the GDF attempted to recover Onyx from the air and transfer it to a research facility. However, due to the distortion of surrounding space, approaching fighter jets were destroyed by the spatial anomalies, making it impossible for humans to get close. Ony would then become the focal point of conflict between and Sweed and Zadime representing the interests of Ze Su, and Rution/Arc who sought to stop their attmpt to undo the seal. Zadime got close to breaking said seal which caused the spatial distortion to dissipate, as cracks formed on Onyx, putting of releasing all its energy. It was only the timely intervention of Ultraman Arc, that stopped this as he leapt into the Onyx and absorbed it, transforming it into the 'Galaxy Armor'. With this new power he defeated Ze Su's minions, and ended the immediate threat of the Onyx. The Wandering Future
