Emperor Ackdos Gill is the tyrannical ruler of the Space Empire Zangyack, the father of Commandant Warz Gill and the main antagonist of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.
He was voiced by the late Shinji Ogawa.
Biography
Past
Several years ago, Ackdos Gil sent an army of Gormin and Sugormin in a massive invasion of the Earth but they were destroyed by the combined Super Sentai.
Eventually however, Ackdos Gil learnt that stopping the invasion cost the Sentai thier powers so he planned another invasion. He put his son Warz Gill in charge and tasked Chief of Staff Damaras with accompanying him and keeping watch over his son's actions before sending a large armada to accomplish this.
Gokaiger
Ackdos later sends his elite guardsman Deratsueigar to assist his son after numerous failures to seize the planet. After Warz is shot in the hand by Captain Marvelous, he exclaims "not even my father ever hit me!" Though Deratsueigar puts up a better fight than the Action Commanders that came before him, even he falls to the Gokaigers with the help of Kaoru Shiba and the Shinkenger's Greater Power. Ackdos later has two Dogormin Bodyguards deliver the Great Warz to the Gigant Horse so Warz can use it to finish the invasion. Unfortunately, that plan fails as well and leads to Warz Gill's death.
Following his son's death, Ackdos comes to the Gigant Horse himself to command the invasion and destroys the invasion force he previously sent due to thier incompetence. He has Damaras imprisoned for failing to prevent his son's death and decides to invade Earth as a memorial for his late son. His bodyguard Zatsurig offers to attack the Gokaigers himself which the Emperor grants and sends some of his forces to accompany him. He oversees the fight and is later seen watching Zatsurig fail and death. Ackdos then decides to give Damaras a chance to make up for his failure by destroying the Gokaigers. With assistance from Basco, Damaras is able to capture Captain Marvelous while the other Gokaigers bar Don are seemingly killed. Ackdos resolves to have Marvelous publicly executed on Earth but the execution was halted by the Gokaigers who kill Damaras after he is betrayed by Basco. Despite disliking Damaras, Ackdos aknowledges the threat posed by the privateer and re-establishes the bounty on his head. Realizing that defeating the Gokaigers and conquering Earth will require more force, Ackdos sends out a call throughout his entire empire, recruiting the bulk of the Zangyack's military might into a huge fleet even greater than the first invasion of Earth. Ackdos later gathers the Zangyack forces and sends Insarn to weaken the Gokaigers before he has his entire fleet attack Earth and destroy all of the planet's inhabitants with the intent of killing the pirates and executing planetary genocide. The sheer amount of battleships is the ultimate outcome of the fight with the Gokaigers and their mecha with the Space Pirates and the manifestations of the Super Sentai's Greater Powers shot down in flames.
However, Marvelous and Gai are able to board the Gigant Horse and confront Ackdos. While Gai fights Ackdos, Marvelous reprograms the Gigant Horse's laser cannons to wipe out the entire fleet before the two Gokaigers use their Final Wave to damage the ship's controls and send it crashing into the ground. Enraged that his military has been wiped out in a single instant, Ackdos fights Marvelous and Gai before they blast the control console; causing the Gigant Horse to crash while they use the power of the Goseigers to land safely. Despite the Gigant Horse's destruction, Ackdos manages to survive and confront the Gokaigers for a final battle. Using rapid Gokai Changes, the Gokaigers begin to overwhelm Ackdos before blasting him at point blank range with the Gokai Galleon Buster. He is finally killed when the Gokaigers use a Rough Wave to finish him off. In his final moments, Ackdos curses the space pirates before perishing in a massive explosion. With the destruction of Ackdos, his son, his lieutenants, and the massive forces the Gokaigers wiped out in the invasion campaign, the Zangyack empire begins to break apart into factions with its influence and control over the universe slowly diminishing.
Super Hero Taisen
Ackdos and Warz are both resurrected as members of the Dai-Zangyack under Emperor Marvelous with Ackdos being shown to be embarrassed by his son's cowardly behavior. During the final battle between the Shocker-Zangyack Alliance and combined Super Sentai and Kamen Rider forces, Ackdos and Warz are both enlarged by the Gigant Horse to combat Go-BusterOh but, during the formation of Big Machine, the two are destroyed when the colossal mecha side-swipes them.
Personality
As the emperor of the Zangyack, Ackdos was a successful and typical tyrant who ruled most of the universe at the time and took great pleasure in subjugating whole planets into it's knees. He was calmer and more cunning than his son yet he did mistreat his underlings like dirt and, though he placed Warz in the care of his statesmen, he did have much confidence in his ability to conquer a planet. However, Ackdos still seemed to care greatly for his son which was shown when he sent the Great Warz, a giant robot with his son's likeness. He even went as far as to take control of the Zangyack invasion after his son was killed and imprison Damaras for failing to safe-keep him. He even placed a memorial portrait and swore to avenge his son's death whilst putting an unlimited reward on Captain Marvelous’s bounty.
Outside of Warz, Ackdos had a fierce temper and little to no empathy for either the lives of the multitude of planets he conquered or even his subordinates. While he seemed to have respected him enough to task him with keeping him safe, he instantly had Damaras imprisoned for failing to protect him; refusing to let Damaras explain or let Insarn speak out. He only released him after some Zangyack forces and Zatsurig were defeated and because Insarn pleaded to have him kill the Gokaigers. He even manipulated as he tricked Insarn into fighting and being killed by the Gokaigers just so he can wear them down and buy time for the final Zangyack attack on Earth. At best, he respected this Imperial Guards though that was most likely because they are well unquestionably loyal to him and were the ones he trusted the most.
Powers and Abilities
- Power: Emperor Ackdos Gill was so powerful that he is able to dodge every attack even while sitting down, giving him power that far exceeded that of all of his minions and underlings. Unlike Warz and Damaras, Ackdos's power was consistent as he did not get his power from a metamorphosis like Damaras nor did he change form or use stolen powers like Warz, being powerful from his own accord without outside sources.
- Shoulder Fireballs: Ackdos could shoot powerful fireballs from his shoulders, which can cause large explosions.
- Ultra Strength: Ackdos was the strongest opponent that the Gokaiger Rangers team had ever faced.
- High Durability: it took the power of most of the Gokaiger's Legendary Ranger Modes to defeat Ackdos but nothing significantly hurt him to the point that the blow from Gai in Gold Mode that broke his sword only made him fall to one knee. Even the Gokaiger's Final Wave and Gai's spear throw merely made a sound on his stomach.
- Battle Skills: Ackdos could hold his own against just about any foe.
- Quick Reflexes: Ackdos could block any attack effortlessly from his opponents even while sitting down.
Weaknesses
- Arrogance: While he rarely showed it, Ackdos's pimary weakness was his immense arrogance and pride since he considered himself utterly and absolutely invincible and underestimated the Gokaigers who eventually managed to defeat the tyrant.
- Stomach Wound: The only way to kill Ackdos Gill was by shoving the Gokai Bazooka right in the wound in his middle and blasting into it otherwise he will not die.

- Royal Sword: Ackdos Gill possessed a sword against his enemies.
- Royal Sword Wave: Ackdos could also fire a powerful yellow energy wave from his sword.
- Zangyack Robo: A Robo which Ackds designed which was equipped with a chest cannon, gauntlets that could fire powerful arrows, a reinforced armor which is impervious to almost any attack, and the ability of hyper speed.
