P/Maj Albert De Vela is a major antagonist in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
He was one of Cardo’s archenemies and the leader of a secret police/military organization known as the Black Ops. He was also responsible for killing Alyana attempting to save Cardo during their first shootout. He initially worked with Judge Arturo Padua but later moved to Lily Anne Cortez after being tired of Padua’s constant chastise and invited by Lito during his arrest. He was eventually killed using a grenade launcher by Marsial Matero during a helicopter escape.
He was portrayed by Geoff Eigenmann.
Biography
At some point in time, he trained in a police academy and became the commander of a secret police unit known as Black Ops whose _target is to eliminate high profile criminals. He then built his relationship with his colleague Lia Mante.
He first appeared during an encounter in Lito’s firing range with the Task Force Agila. His men were almost wiped out and during the shootout he shot Alyana upon attempting to save Cardo. However, he wash shot by Lito and his men arrived to back up Task Force Agila.
He then continued his plan to hunt down Cardo Dalisay and Task Force Agila, being constantly chastised by Arturo Padua for their constant failures. He have been also involved with sexual affairs with his colleague Andrea backstabbing Lia. He had an encounter once again with the Task Force Agila after attempting to save Clarice in the hospital but once again failed to capture them. Days later Cardo was able to trace him on his home, he was almost assassinated during his fight with Lia but stopped after moving out in his place. That night, he encountered Cardo Dalisay upon Cardo open fired to his team.
He has been consistent in tracing Cardo and the Agila, and at some point he tried to interrogate Fernando Mante upon learning Lia’s comeback which caused a commotion upon Fernando insulted him which result he pointed gun and disrespected Fernando, causing Lia to break their bonds. Angry for Fernando’s insult and distrust on their former relationship with Lia, he leaked some Fernando’s secret information about having second family and hidden identity.
He once again encountered with Cardo alongside with Ramil, after the duo secretly entered their station but this time he and his men were severely shot causing a mass loss of Black Ops members. After being discharged in the hospital, he learns that Cardo was hiding in Lia’s place he unlawfully raided their place learning that Task Force Agila and Mante Family has left the place, this time he was able to arrest Berting as he was the only household member left and tortured him, eventually shooting him to death.
They continued searching for Cardo and tired of being constantly chastised by Arturo Padua. Black Ops then resorted in _targeting high profile criminals such as Jacob Serrano, but still Padua was still unsatisfied and warned him that he is connected with Renato Hipolito. He then attempted to arrest Lito, but they were persuaded to join his forces with Lily Anne Cortez. Learning that the Task Force Agila are hiding in the north, he eventually tried to face them once again however failed once again causing Arturo to fire him with the Black Ops from their position.
He worked as a private army of Lily and Lito, but eventually got tired of Lito’s constant demands, which made him and the Black Ops independently request to reinstate themselves as a Black Ops to Lily. He once again faced with Task Force Agila alongside with Armando’s group upon they attacked Don Ignacio’s art exhibit and endorsement of Lily’s candidacy. This time a lot of his teammates were killed once again(actually it is his own fault in betraying them to their own deaths), which made his grudge to Cardo grew and became desperate to arrest and kill him anytime soon.
He once again faced with the Task Force Agila, after the Task Force Agila attempted to take down Lily, Renato, and Arturo in a local airport but this time he was able to arrest Cardo after Lito shot him in the chest. Guarding, Cardo he was disrupted upon Lito attempted to kill Cardo which result having an intense shootout in the hospital with Lito. Lito was able to take him down by shooting him, but later regained consciousness and attempted to stop Lito and arrest Cardo back. He later faces with Cardo again upon his team raided Ramona’s camp but a lot of his men were once again taking down by Cardo and Ramona’s team.
After Cardo have reunited with President Oscar Hidalgo alongside with Task Force Agila, Lily, Renato, and Arturo were exposed by their corruption he was later seen removing his patches on his uniform indicating that he will be eventually fired and arrested for his schemes and involvement with Lily and partaking with her crimes of slaughtering her political enemies. He was officially fired and ousted by President Oscar Hidalgo and declared that he and his teammates will be soon arrested for their crimes and fascist brutalities. He became one of Lily’s private armies, and he was seen having fight again with Task Force Agila where he was caught by P/Maj Victor Basco resulting an intense hand to hand combat. After managing to escape Victor, he flew Lily’s chopper in attempt to escape with Task Force Agila only to be stopped when a member fired grenade launcher to the chopper, resulting in his end and avenging and serving justice for all of those he systematically killed.
Personality
He is seen to be cold blooded, hotheaded, and ambitious police officer showing that he only cares antagonizing Task Force Agila particularly Cardo Dalisay for his goal to become the general, which is the highest rank in police and military force. He is also shown to be egotistical and self centered individual indicating that he only cares about himself particularly his image as a police officer and doesn’t want to accept failures only caring his good image as an officer even though he commits against violations against the protocols or harm other innocent citizens. He also displays to be hypocritical individual as mostly shown in the series where he antagonizes Cardo Dalisay and Task Force Agila but he also commits crimes that are even worse to Task Force Agila’s activity. Moreover, he is seen to be coward as seen during his last duel in Tierra del Diablo, where it was shown instead of surrendering he resisted his arrest and desperately attempted to escape his life of crime resulting his own demise.
Appearance
He is shown to be white toned individual, short dark haired , averagely tall and weighted adult man. For his outfit, he is seen to be wearing a black ops uniform consisting of black military uniform with police patches and insignia, blood proof vest with police patch, combat pants, and black pair of boots. For the accessory, he is seen to have a lot of holsters holding his handguns, knives, and also other accessory kits. He was also seen initially to be wearing a black cap but in the later episodes he was never seen again wearing black cap.

- He is portrayed by Geoff Eigenmann, and co starred with his father Michael de Mesa in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. Additionally, his elder brother Ryan Eigenmann also previously casted in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano who portrayed Gascon in late 2018 to early 2019.
- His death is similar to Don Emilio Syquia (Gustavo Toralba), wherein they both attempted to flee helicopter to escape Task Force Agila (previously known as Vendetta) and their demise was helicopter explosion caused by firing of Task Force Agila. However, there are some exceptions in their situation wherein Cardo was the one who fired Don Emilio’s helicopter, and Marshall Matero was the one responsible for firing grenade launcher to Albert’s helicopter.
- He may be an evil version of Cardo Dalisay as they share similarities.
- They are both leaders of police organizations.
- They are both hot headed individual, and they both get intensely mad if one of their teammates dies.
- They are able to recover fast despite of intense gunshot wounds.
- He may be similar to Harold Attinger, the main antagonist of Transformers: Age of Extinction, as they share some similarities of their characters for being portrayed as being an ambitious, opportunistic, corrupt, terroristic and genocidal leader of a Black Ops Unit _targeting high profile enemies. Nevertheless, they also shown both antagonizing the protagonists in the series and he shares some similarities to Destoroyah, the main antagonist of his debut film Godzilla vs Destoroyah, both meeting their end by someone other than their enemies finishing them, with Destoroyah being killed by the JSDF and Albert killed by Marsial Matero.
