Alec Frost

Now you listen to me, Ironwood. McKinzie pays me to buy big game animals to bring to this island for him to hunt. It's my job. And unlike you, college boy, I like my job. Intend to keep it no matter what. And if you intend to keep your job, don't interfere with my efforts to make this tiger mean.Alec Frost to Joe Ironwood.

Alexander "Alec" Frost is the secondary antagonist of Disney's 1980 live action movie Sultan and the Rock Star, which is based on the 1979 novel Sandy and the Rock Star by the late Walt Morey. He is George McKinzie's right-hand man who ships big game animals to an island owned by McKinzie known as Sportsman's Island for him to hunt.

He was portrayed by Bruce Glover, who also played Mr. Wint in the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever.

Role

In the first scene of the film, a tame tiger actor named Sultan is shipped to Sportsman's Island, where he is relentlessly tormented and turned aggressive by Frost. Frost also threatens to fire McKinzie's caretaker, Joe Ironwood if he interferes with his work and sets Sultan free as he believes that his work was enough to turn him into an aggressive killer.

Two days later, McKinzie arrives at Sportsman's Island, while a runaway rock star named Paul Winters climbs on board to the island. Paul comes across Sultan and decides to become his protector after he recognizes him. McKinzie, Frost and Ironwood hear about Paul's disappearance on the radio and head outside for practice _targets, while Paul and Sultan sneak over to get some food from their storage room and escape.

While Paul and Sultan are sleeping in the cave, they are awoken by gunshots outside the cave as McKinzie and Frost shoot at the cave to provoke Sultan into coming out, but Paul holds him back and they leave. Paul and Sultan head back to the storage room for more food, but Sultan alerts the dogs and Ironwood spots them as they escape. While McKinzie and Frost are having lunch, Ironwood informs Paul about McKinzie's nature and tells him to forget about Sultan, but Paul refuses. The following night, McKinzie orders Frost to bring out the dogs for the hunt the next day.

The next morning, Ironwood warns Paul about the dogs, but he informs him about a mystical island called Walkon Island, where Sultan will be safe from being hunted. Frost sets the bloodhounds loose and a chase is ensued. The pair cover their tracks by washing away Sultan's scent near the shoreline and the hunters lose them. The dogs still give chase, but the pair manage to elude them when Paul puts Sultan's scent on one of McKinzie's couches, which leads the dogs to wreak havoc inside. The hunters arrive and see the chaos. McKinzie accuses Frost for leading him on a wild goose chase and decides to go back to the mainland. However, as they drive away, Frost hears Sultan roaring and the tiger leaps onto their truck, but they shake him off and Sultan flees.

Frost informs McKinzie and they head over to the cave to kill Sultan. Frost tells McKinzie that it's too risky, but he ignores his warning. As McKinzie reaches the top, he accidentally drops his rifle and Sultan attacks him, causing him to tumble down the hill. Frost cowers at the sight of Sultan before he and Ironwood carry McKinzie back to the boat. Frost asks McKinzie if he can accompany him to a hospital, but McKinzie makes up his mind to sell his island and fires Frost, much to his dismay.

However, Frost is still determined to hunt down Sultan to get revenge and leads his dogs down the shore, where Paul and Sultan are playing. Paul hears the dogs and notices a fisherman's boat, so they swim their way to the boat. Paul asks the fisherman to help them and he reluctantly agrees. Frost comes across the boat and asks the fisherman if he has seen Sultan, but the fisherman claims that he hasn't seen anything, let alone a tiger, forcing Frost to leave. The fisherman then takes Paul and Sultan to Walkon Island, where Sultan is released into the wild.

It is unknown what happened to Frost afterwards, but he likely gave up his search of Sultan and went back to the mainland, as he is nowhere to be found on Sportsman's Island.
