Biography

Batman clone circuits revealed during his fight against the real Batman
The duplicant after being shot.

The Batman Clone was the last clone that H.A.R.D.A.C. created before it self-destructed. However, the clone's memory got damaged and was incomplete, so it thought it was the real Batman. However, the clone began to question who he was after he got shot by a thug. Instead of blood, the circuitry in his body were heavily damage. Looking for answers, the Bat Clone confronted the creator of H.A.R.D.A.C.; Dr. Karl Rossum, who told it about its true origins.

Eventually, the clone found out what he was and went to search for the remains of H.A.R.D.A.C. However, as soon as he found the remains, H.A.R.D.A.C. reactivated inside the Batman clone. He then informed the clone's objective and repaired the clone's damaged systems, after which the clone went to the Batcave and attempted to reboot H.A.R.D.A.C. so it can rule the world, forcing humanity to obey him and eventually replace them. While it was able to perform H.A.R.D.A.C's objective, the one thing that it couldn't do was take a life, which Batman found out when the clone had the perfect opportunity to kill him, but the clone couldn't. The Batman Clone was created to be a perfect clone of Batman, which included having Batman's identity, secrets, combat skills and morals. Therefore, when the clone thought it had killed the real Batman, it went insane and sacrificed itself to destroy the Bat-Computer, preventing H.A.R.D.A.C.'s reboot and revival.

With the Clone's sacrifice, Batman and Alfred questioned if the clone actually had a soul itself - a soul made out of silicon, but a soul nonetheless.

Final Attack

Batman beyond still
The clone fighting Terry McGinnis.

Unknown to Batman, however, the duplicate managed to survive in some way and still wanted his revenge against him. With the face repaired, the duplicate returned years later in the future, by which time Bruce Wayne had retired as the Batman and Terry McGinnis had assumed the role as the new Batman in Gotham City. One day, the duplicate infiltrated the Batcave and knocked out Wayne in addition to destroying the Batcomputer. Also, the duplicate activated seven of Batman's androids with different Batsuits, essentially creating an army. When McGinnis arrived, Wayne regained consciousness, but the duplicate hit McGinnis and started to fight against him.

At one point of the battle, McGinnis hit the duplicate's face and left its face destroyed as before, making him furious. However, with the advice of the older Wayne, McGinnis electrocuted the duplicate in the head, causing it to fall to the Batmobile's parking track. Quickly, Wayne ordered the Batmobile in automatic mode to ignite, so just before the duplicate could realize it, the Batmobile's turbines released fire immediately, pulverizing and destroying the duplicate once and for all. The duplicate's army appeared on scene just after the duplicate's destruction, but Wayne and McGinnis prepared themselves to combat them.
