You will pardon me if I do not rise. Our march was wearisome, and my toes are prone to blisters. It is a curse.Harry to Jon Connington.
Has the sun curdled your brains, Flowers? We need the girl. We need the marriage. If Daenerys accepts our princeling and takes him for her consort, the Seven Kingdoms will do the same. Without her, the lords will only mock his claim and brand him a fraud and a pretender.Harry makes a valid point.

Personality
"Gold for four generations," Harry would boast, as if four generations of exile and defeat were something to take pride in.Jon Connington's thoughts about Harry
Harry often complains about blisters on his feet during long marches, suggesting that he may lack physical endurance. He has a fondness for elephants. However, there are doubts surrounding his combat and strategic skills, raising questions about his capabilities in leading the Golden Company.
Harry's previous position as the company paymaster indicates that his strengths lie in financial and administrative tasks rather than leading and commanding troops.
Biography
Background
Harry's family has a history of rebellion and loss, as his great-grandsire participated in the First Blackfyre Rebellion alongside Daemon I Blackfyre, resulting in the loss of their lands. Harry himself was born in exile and grew up within the Golden Company, just like his father and grandfather. When the previous commander, Ser Myles Toyne, passed away, Harry was appointed as the new captain-general of the Golden Company.
Novels
Ser Harry Strickland, the captain-general of the Golden Company and lord of House Strickland, assumed command of the Golden Company in 296 AC after previously serving as the paymaster within the organization. Originally the paymaster, Harry unexpectedly became the nominal leader after the death of their previous leader four years ago. However, his suitability for the role is questionable, as many people within the company see him as a coward lacking bravery. In fact, he serves more as a trusted advisor to Lord Jon Connington and Prince Aegon Targaryen, who are the de facto leaders of the Golden Company. It is also a mystery how Harry managed to become the captain-general of the Golden Company, despite lacking bravery and combat prowess.
Currently, under his leadership, the Golden Company is conquering the Stormlands on behalf of Prince Aegon VI Targaryen and Lord Jon Connington. A unit of the Golden Company, under the leadership of Ser Marq Mandrake, conquered Greenstone, the seat of House Estermont, and took captive any family members found in the castle. It is noted that the captives will make good hostages against House Baratheon, as the Estermonts are maternal relatives to King Stannis I and King Tommen I, and other members of House Estermont are fighting in the North as part of Stannis's army as well. The next objective of the Company is to capture Storm's End, with the purpose of making it their war seat and primary base of operations. Storm's End is currently held by a garrison of Stannis, and the castle is already being besieged by an Iron Throne army mainly consisting of Reachmen, commanded by Lord Mathis Rowan.
Game of Thrones
Season 8
Strickland and the Golden Company are brought to Westeros by King Euron Greyjoy, where Strickland commands a division of the Golden Company aboard Euron's flagship, the Silence. Later, he meets with Queen Cersei Lannister in the throne room of the Red Keep, accompanied by Euron. Strickland confirms the Golden Company's agreement with Cersei but reveals that their 20,000 soldiers have arrived, yet the elephants are absent due to the challenges of transporting them by sea. Cersei is disappointed, but she still extends a welcome to Strickland in King's Landing.
In the Battle of King's Landing, Strickland assumes command of the Golden Company outside the city gates, where they confront Queen Daenerys Targaryen's armies. However, their defense is swiftly overwhelmed when Daenerys and her dragon Drogon arrive, obliterating the city's walls and the Golden Company. Strickland is thrown from his horse by the dragon's attack. In a desperate attempt to escape, he tries to retreat into the city. Unfortunately, his efforts are cut short when Grey Worm kills him from behind. As the forces of House Targaryen, House Stark, and House Arryn charge into the city, Strickland's demise marks the end of his leadership and the ultimate defeat of the Golden Company.
