Mordant was a pig-like henchman who wore a monocle and a very minor antagonist in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie.

He was played in-suit by Jean Paul Bell and voiced by Martin Metcalf.

History

Together with Goldar, Mordant follows Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa to unlock Ivan Ooze's Hyperlock Chamber only to defect when Ivan imprisons his masters. Mordant helps oversee the production of Ivan's ooze and the unearthing of the Ecto-Morphicons but stays in the Moon Palace during thier attack on Earth. After Ivan's death, Goldar claims leadership of the Evil Space Aliens and Mordant swears allegiance to him only for Rita and Zedd (freed after Ivan's death) to storm in and confront thier insubordinate minions. What happened to Mordant after this is unknown.

Trivia

  • Due to ignoring the events of Season 3, the movie and by extension Mordant are considered non-cannon to Power Rangers.
  • In an original draft of the script, he was revealed to be Goldar's second cousin three times removed on his mother's side and visiting for the summer but this was written out for the final draft as it was superfluous. As a result, many audience members were confused as to Mordant's origins.
