Biography

Dexter, researching Hicks, finds that he is suspected of raping and murdering two women, Lynn Hall and Ann Cohen, both of whom recently tried to buy a car from him. Both were also single, lived alone and owned a pet, leading Dexter to suspect this is Hicks's profile. Dexter goes to Hicks's car dealership to get his DNA, but Hicks's quick wit and smooth talk convinces him to actually buy a car from him. Leaving, Dexter manages to get a sample of Hicks's hair, but when he runs it through the DNA database he finds that Hicks wears a wig.

Dexter returns to Hicks's dealership under the cover of darkness, collecting a DNA sample from the bin, which confirms Hicks was the killer of both women. After looking into Hicks further, Dexter finds that he runs online checks on his female customers, allowing him to confirm whether or not they fit his profile. He also directs his victims to actually buy the cars from a different dealership to avoid being connected to them.

After visiting Hicks's dealership, Dexter realizes he is planning to kill another woman, Allison Sera, who he meets their as she fits his profile. To prevent this, he confronts Hicks at his dealership that night. Hicks at first attempts to avoid conversation with Dexter, but after Dexter calls him out, he drops his polite façade and admits he doesn't actually care. Dexter then chokes Hicks and abducts him.

When Hicks comes round, he finds himself cling-filmed to a table in Ann Cohen's house, surrounded by photos of Ann Cohen and Lynn Hall. After trying to convince Dexter to release him, he offers Dexter a free car in exchange for releasing him, but Dexter simply comments that he's impressed at how good a liar Hicks is. As Dexter prepares to kill Hicks, he has a sudden reflection on his relationship with his girlfriend Rita. Hicks reacts strongly to this, saying that Dexter would be better off without "that c*nt", enraging Dexter, who slams a knife into his chest and says, "Don't talk about my girlfriend that way."
