SCP-1337

Mary Talish, also know as SCP-1337 and The Hitchhiker, is a supporting antagonist in the SCP Foundation mythos. Originally a harmless ghost of a murdered teenager, she became violent and vengeful due to an arrogant SCP Agent attempting to terminate her by destroying her family. After going mad, she would attack any passer-by who ignored her.

Biography

SCP-1337, born Mary Talish, was a teenage girl who was abducted, tortured, and then sacrificed by a cult. Ever since, her ghost has haunted a piece of road named "1337-Alpha" by the foundation, appearing every month on the 19th. When she first began manifesting, she took on her appearance as she did in life, looking like an ordinary teenage girl with blond hair and blue eyes.

The ghost, saying she was lost, always asked a nearby driver to drive her home (called "Site 1337-Delta" by agents). During said ride, she would ask the driver to first stop near her grave dubbed "Site 1337-Beta". After leaving, she would vanish, and then leave her sweater (nicknamed "SCP-1337-Gamma") for the driver to find, which had the anomalous effect of making the driver want to give it to their family on impulse.

Any attempt of containing the sweater has met with failure, as the sweater demanifests once May 19 ends. At first, ignoring her completely or going through the hitchhiking routine with her would not result in any violent action. To keep the story in secret, the Foundation persuaded the girl's parents to become E-Class Agents and hand over control to Dr. L****. However, Dr. L**** commanded the deaths of the agents and destroyed Site 1337-Delta without permission, wrongfully assuming that getting rid of everything tied to SCP-1337 would make her pass on and thus decommission her, and by doing so, he would get a promotion. Instead, he was met with a demotion for his actions and was assigned to SCP-1337 indefinitely, under fear that the ghost would _target him next. This assumption ultimately proved correct.

3 years after the event, no signs of SCP-1337 were found, and she was tentatively believed to be neutralized. That was until ten years later, when Dr. L**** was discovered slain by SCP-1337 in the same way that Mary Talish herself was murdered. Since then, SCP-1337 has resumed her yearly haunting every May 19th like before, only she has become extremely dangerous. Not only is she far more violent, but her territory has expanded to include every last backroad of her hometown. Her appearance has alrered as drastically as her behavior, showing her as she looked in death, with gouged out eyes and torn bloody clothing that exposes the gaping hole

in her chest hole where her heart was ripped out.

After this change, the cost for ignoring her would be lethal, having the specter warp into the backseat and torture the unlucky driver to death. Following the murder of Dr. L****, SCP-1337 has been re-added into the Euclid class, and every 19th, each and every road (now all named 1337-Alpha), are patrolled relentlessly for signs of SCP-1337.

If she is to be spotted, a D-class is inserted into a remote controlled vehicle and rode to where she appeared, where the D-class would stop, and SCP-1337 would then disappear and reappear on a random road.
