Just because a dish is gorgeous and uses first-rate ingredients doesn't mean everyone will like it. Tastes change depending on likes and dislikes...feelings and emotions...memories and perception... It depends on each person to determine what they believe is tasty...Teruteru Hanamura
Teruteru Hanamura is a supporting antagonist in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, serving as the main antagonist of Chapter 1.
A student of Hope's Peak Academy with the title of the '"Ultimate Cook'", he planned to murder Nagito Komaeda when he believed that he would attempt to kill someone, but he ended up accidentally killing "Byakuya Togami" in Chapter 1. In reality, because the killing game only took place in a simulation, both he and "Byakuya Togami" are still alive.
He was voiced by Jun Fukuyama in Japanese and Todd Haberkorn in English.
Biography
In Chapter 1, he noticed Nagito putting a knife under a table, and ended up being scared that there was going to be a murder, so he planned to kill Nagito and stop a murder from happening. However, he accidentally ended up killing the Ultimate Imposter with the iron skewer instead of Nagito under the floorboard.
After he has been caught as the killer of the Ultimate Imposter in the class trial, he admits that he wanted to see his mother again, and at the very end, cries out for his mother before being executed by Monokuma.
In the real world, he and all his classmates are still alive and manage to convince Ryota to not brainwash the world with hope, and decides to shoulder the blame for the killing game and return to Jabberwalk island on a boat.
Appearance
In his normal self, he wears a chef's outfit with a red apron that has an E with a big circle in the middle with 3 stars on the right side, a red scarf on his neck, a chef's hat, and dark brown hair. He also wears black pants and brown shoes with black laces underneath his apron.
Unlike his normal self, as ultimate despair, Teruteru wears red clothing with a large chef's hat, a yellow scarf and is carrying food in his backpack.

Trivia
- Teruteru and Leon Kuwata have executions that have similarities to each other, as both were dragged off from the trial by a chain around the neck, then strapped onto a pole. Unlike Leon, however, Teruteru is still alive in the real world.
