The Admiral is the overarching of the Brandon Sanderson novel The Sunlit Man. She is the ruthless leader of the Night Brigade, a dangerous interplanetary mercenary organization that is famously destructive in its methods. She leads a dogged hunt for a fugitive named Nomad who has thus far avoided her.
Appearance
The Admiral is a tall woman with short black hair. She generally wore a military uniform and had a formal demeanor.
Personality
The Admiral has been shown to be cold and persistent. Although she prefers not to use to many resources on civilians, this seems to be more pragmatic than anything else, and she has no problem murdering or torturing innocents to get what she wants, being a bit sadistic. She is entirely dedicated to her job and gives her every moment to it.
Biography
The Admiral at some point became commander of the Night Brigade, and began leading the hunt for the Dawnshard, a powerful relic that belonged to a world-hopper named Nomad. Her Brigade tracked him to several different planets around the Cosmere, but he was always able to get to another planet before they apprehended him.
On one occasion, the Admiral was able to track him to the planet of Canticle, and had her sergeant, Truth-Is-Waiting, lead the hunt for them. Unfortunately for her, all Truth-Is-Waiting found was that Nomad had escaped. However, he also discovered a facility of Timetellers, scientists from the planet of Scadrial. The TimeTellers had not contacted the Night Brigade upon their arrival on the planet, so the Admiral ordered they be tortured for information about Nomads whereabouts.
Powers and Abilities
As the leader of the Night Brigade, the Admiral has access to all of their resources. With their technology, she could order the destruction of a planet if she wanted to and is implied to have done this in the past. She has control of the shades, who obey her. She is also persistent and intelligent, which benefits her position.

- Brandon Sanderson has stated that the Admiral will be the protagonist on a potential novel he is tentatively calling The Night Brigade.
