Adrian Toomes, better known as the Vulture, is a major antagonist in the 2010 video game Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. He is one of the secondary antagonists of the Noir Universe.

He is Norman Osborn's right-hand, and a cannibalistic criminal responsible for killing and eating Ben Parker, making him one of the arch-enemies of Spider-Man (Noir).

He was voiced by Steve Blum, who also voiced Vilgax and Zs'Skayr in Ben 10, Amon in The Legend of Korra, and the Green Goblin in The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Biography

Adrian Toomes began his life as a circus freak who was forced to bite the heads off of chickens for show. Toomes grew to hate humanity for their treatment of him. Once he was freed, Toomes turned against all humanity and began attacking and eating them. His ferocity caught the attention of Norman Osborn, who brought him into his gang as an enforcer and eventually as his right-hand. When Benjamin Parker refused to be intimidated by Osborn or his gang, Toomes was dispatched so he would murder and cannibalize Peter Parker's uncle. This led to his nephew, Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man, to seek vengeance. While Spider-Man shot Vulture and presumed him dead, he returned later to continue his life of crime.

After the Tablet of Order and Chaos is broken in a battle between Spider-Man and Mysterio, the pieces are scattered across dimensions, with the Vulture obtaining one and attempting to deliver it to the Goblin. In the Noir Universe, Spider-Man tracks down the Vulture after defeating Hammerhead, seeking to take him out next for what he did to Ben.

The Vulture flees and has his goons watch out for Spider-Man, instructing them to sound an alarm if he shows up. Spider-Man manages to make his way through them, and the Vulture ambushes him in a warehouse. The Vulture begins the battle by pinning Spider-Man down to the ground. He attacks by biting until Spider-Man hits him off, The Vulture throws knives and Molotov cocktails at Spider-Man, but Spider-Man uses floodlights in the Vulture's eyes to stun him and attack. Spider-Man kicks the Vulture through a window, and they both land on train tracks. When he notices a train coming, the Vulture tells Spider-Man that the latter has a train to catch, before he flees the scene. After escaping the train, Spider-Man finds that the Vulture has kidnapped a group of people and has his goons holding them at gunpoint. Spider-Man manages to save them and take out the thugs, then chases the Vulture to a building before being knocked down by an explosion.

Spider-Man wakes to see that the Vulture has set the building on fire with him and civilians in it. Spider-Man manages to save them and escape, chasing the Vulture. However, Spider-Man arrives too late, as the Vulture uses the Fragment to grant himself the powers of teleportation and increased strength. The Vulture attempts to eat Spider-Man, then attacks with more Molotov cocktails and teleports around. Spider-Man uses floodlights to stun him and attack, with the Vulture growing increasingly more aggressive. After Spider-Man weakens him, the Vulture tries one more time to pin and eat Spider-Man alive, but Spider-Man throws him off, defeating him as Spider-Man recovers the Fragment the Vulture got his hands on.

Personality

The Vulture is deranged and sadistic, enjoying the suffering of others and taking delight in cannibalizing humans. Despite this, he is a coward, primarily choosing to flee from danger and even trying to make deals to get enemies off of his back. However, upon being empowered by the Fragment, the Vulture becomes more confident and monstrous, planning on eating Spider-Man and betraying Osborn.
