Born: 1534 or 1538, Avila or Langa de Duero, Soria
Died: 25 September 1619, Rome
Biography Spanish cantor, composer, and music editor of the Spanish Renaissance. He was a singer in the Sistine Chapel and a member of the Oratory of St Philip Neri. His books of laudi spirituali reprint songs that were part of the musical life of that congregation as begun under its musical director, Giovanni Animuccia.
