English text
I saw three kings on the road,
each one more handsome than the others,
their hands full of gifts.
Next to theirs, what will ours be?
Almost nothing!
They placed myrrh, gold, and frankincense
beside the little prince.
Our poor presents seemed very slight compared with the treasures of three lands.
He gazed at the jewels while we stood, saying nothing.
Then he looked our way, and his first smile was for us.
