This book is a must read for all the teenagers and adults as it deals with an issue which surprisingly still takes time to accept or acknowledge.

This book is a must read for all the teenagers and adults as it deals with an issue which surprisingly still takes time to accept or acknowledge.
The story deals with Jeff and his journey in Psychiatric hospital the reason he was admitted was because he tried to commit suicide. It was a 45 day program which Jeff was finding difficult to understand as he feels he is completely normal and not at all like the other kids whom he called nutcracks the names were Juliet, Bones, Sadie and Alice. But later on he realises everyone has their own problems and that does not make them crazy but in fact more normal than anyone could ever be.
He befriended Sadie and shares everything with her she does the same and they created a bond i like the way their friendship was formed and portrayed also Jeff was sympathetic and an emotional person as he was able to feel others pain and problems.
The whole book the reader wonders what was wrong with Jeff so does his shrink/psychiatrist as he always avoids question with a sarcastic comment. As the days went many patients come and go giving Jeff a memory and whole new experience the biggest shock of the book was when Sadie dies and the impact it created on him then he started to open up and as a reader we realise that he never had a crush on Allie (his best friend) but Burke his best friend's boyfriend then we realise that why Jeff did what he did and how he was finding it hard to accept his sexuality as people around him often make a joke of such people.
The way whole story unfolds is interesting to read the ending definitely is worth it as Jeff becomes better the characters are so well portrayed that Sadie's death makes one sad.
Characters like Martha also teaches a lot.
Do read this once as its worth reading🌟🌟❤❤
