Program Overview:
The Equipping Future Entrepreneurs (EFE) program aims to bridge the gap between research and entrepreneurship.
Program Goals:
- Empower researchers to translate promising ideas and technologies into marketable products.
- Foster an entrepreneurial mindset among participants.
- Provide resources for technology transfer and commercialization.
- Prepare participants for project launch or licensing.
Program Sessions:
Our program consists of five interactive sessions designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the world of research entrepreneurship.

Friday, February 7 – Workshop 1 from 12:30 – 2:30 pm: Welcome and Who and Why? Finding your Brand or Customer
Friday, February 21 – Workshop 2 from 12:30 – 2:30 pm: Research like an Entrepreneur – Navigate Patents, Licensing, Trademarks, and Conflict of Interest

Friday, March 7 – Workshop 3 from 12:30 – 2:30 pm: Launching a company – How to get started and secure funding

Friday, March 21 – Workshop 4 from 12:30 – 2:30 pm: Prototyping and Resources – Learning about Starkville resources and networking
Downtown Starkville: IDEA Shop, Glo leaders, The Hub
Friday, April 25 – Workshop 5 from 3:30 – 7:00 pm: Perfecting business pitches – how to successfully commercialize research opportunities.
