LDDb.com has been hosted on a paying dedicated server for 5 years at $540/year, but the hardware was showing
its limits and from February 2011, the server was upgraded with monthly costs jumping from $45 to $65 a month ($780/year).
The good news is that I managed to get the costs back to $540/year from August 2013 to August 2020! The latest upgrade
from September 2020 is putting us back at $720/year.
To keep the website nearly ad-free, you may want to help contributing to the server costs using the "Donate" button on the left, all
money collected here will only be used for this purpose. Names of generous donors who don't want to remain anonymous are

What happens if I donate when hosting fees are already paid for several months in advance?
This is a very good question and a very legitimate concern. Until recently, this "pending" donation
was sleeping on my Paypal account until it was matched with actual hosting expenses. However, this was
changed after I discovered KIVA.org (recommended). From now on,
everytime the donations exceed 4 months, the equivalent amount will be invested in 4-month loans on KIVA. I will
fully cover any payment default from KIVA creditors (so far none) so that your donation will still be used at 100%
for hosting fees. Current short-term projects financed via LDDb.com excess donations are:
