This book provides a depth and context to the Libya situation that I did not have before.
I was initially interested in reading this book because I saw the movie 13 Hours and I wanted to learn what happened.
13 hours was a well acted movie, and I didn't know much about what happened in 2012. But the movie suffered with the limitations of that medium. It needed to have the story arch we are used to and clearly defined heroes and villains. The GRS team were undoubtedly heroes, but the CIA chief was not the unreasonable person he was made out to be, and the DS agents were heroes that night. The movie was about the GRS team and this book more about the DS agents. This book gives a context and an understanding to the situation in Libya.… (more)
