good for older kids. Wouldn't choose it for storytime. Love the comic-like illustrations.

This is, imo, indeed worthy of the Caldecott Honor. Not only are the illustrations and design delightful, taking on a large share of the story-telling, but both text and art are funny in complementary ways. I thought that this book was so cute. I loved the idea that the little lion wants to grow up and be just like his papa. He tries to do everything like him like his roar for example.
