Drs. Camp and Fisher introduce the culture of ancient Greece, from the earliest human inhabitants to the Roman period. The information is presented in a clear and organized manner with plenty of maps and pictures to bring the ancient Greek world to life. This is a great beginning resource, and a useful overview of the ancient Greek world.

This book is an indispensable resource for anyone interested in Greek archaeology. Dr. Camp's writing is clear, insightful, and readily accessible for the casual reader and the dedicated scholar alike. The book is well-indexed and referenced, with a complete bibliography that is also listed by subject area. Together with the Athenian Agora Excavations, Dr. Camp's volumes provide an invaluable insight into the archaeology of ancient Athens.
