Annabel Chase

This is #2, but the characters are still a bit clunky. The love interest has no charm.

The world is fun, the characters all have entitled vibes. Lots of big teen angst and 'woe is me' energy.

Random pick up, Great Balls of Fury is a light fun fantasy. First in a series. Magic system seems made up as she goes along, but the mix of magical and mundane characters is fresh.

While the MC is 20 this reads like YA bordering on middle-grade in basically all aspects.
The plot, the humor, the academy first-year setup, the romance, and especially the friendships.
There is little in this book that isn't clichéed so deeply that it will probably never see the light of day again.
The corniness goes so far into cringe-worthy that it got legitimately uncomfortable to read on.
It wasn't horrible but it's neither worth the money nor the time.
