- At almost 18 years of age, Cox was baptized by Alfred Ellmore. He began preaching at in 1918.
He was an active staff writer for the Gospel Advocate for three decades, beginning in the 1950s, Cox for several years wrote a column, "Our Devotion." From 1955 to 1971, he edited Minister's Monthly for the Gospel Advocate Co. Cox authored a number of books including Sermon Notes on the Parables of Jesus and The Sermon on the Mount.
For abut fifteen years he was also closely associated G.H.P. Showalter and the Firm Foundation Publishing House. Listed in Preachers of Today Vol. 1, 1952, 84.
