This book is so cute but sad at the same time. It made me sad every time he didn't find a home and made me think of my own dogs. They got extra cuddles after reading this book.

I didn't look at the blurb but just read if for 'cats' theme in the Children's Books group. It's a great fit, about finding a good home for a stray, with a note in the back how families can help with the feral cat problem. But I wanted more humor, or at least a brief nod to (and refutation of) the stereotype of cats & dogs being enemies.

Recommended to those who read the blurb and are interested in an epistolary picture-book.

Yeah, yeah, it's sweet, and we all love the advice in the back about how to help homeless animals. But also: it dispels the myth that mail carriers and dogs are sworn enemies (the mail carriers I know carry doggie biscuits), and it teaches kids how to write letters, and how it's good to answer (polite personal) letters too, even if the answer is no.
