This book is one of my favorites to go back and reread. I love how Sera is trying to reestablish herself at a new college and she instantly comes on to Liam's radar but he is hiding a secret of his own. He tries hard to fight his attraction to Sera because it could be not only dangerous to her but his brothers as well. Once Sera discovers Liam's secret she decides its something she can live with but it definitely has put her in danger so they have to fight and hope they come out of this alive.

Mediocre to the core including all the typical shortcomings you find in most mediocre romance stories of this ilk.
Action is written like it's supposed to be a movie. It describes typical movie cover pose shots but in text form. Instead of being badass or impressive this just comes across as awkward and amateurish. A lot of authors (like this one) don't seem to realize that a book is a fundamentally different medium that requires a different kind of scene setting. There are various different ways of describing fighting scenes that work very well in written form but imitating Hollywood blockbusters just doesn't.
The romance is your run-of-the-mill fated mate attraction spiced up with a bit of classic contrived conflict that keeps them apart a little bit.
The politics are unbelievably naive. These fae people have to invent basic governing systems like democracy in the 21st century and nobody thinks this strange despite them being reasonably familiar with modern human society.

It just doesn't hold together as anything other than a paranormal bodice ripper with a flimsy urban fantasy backdrop.

I like the story. It's a cute little origin story. I can't wait to see what comes next. There were a couple of points when I a little bit of a lag, but I did read several Chapters at several different times without even realizing that I've done it. So that's good. Not realizing that you progressed chapters instead of pages lol. So that was fun. On to the next book.

One thing I will have to complain about, but I'm not going to take away any stars, pregnancy. I think there should have been more build up to that. Even if it took another book. It just seemed to come out of left field and blind side us. Something should have been like you know at least leading up to it. Morning sickness. Mood swings. Something. There was no buildup. So maybe that should have had more to it. But everything else is okay.… (more)
