This book offers information about quite a few different animals, where they live, and what they eat to survive. It has beautiful, bright pictures and is easy to read. It could be used from young grades to older, it would be a good book to give older (3rd/4th) students who are struggling readers to use for research in a relevant project.
Simple seasonal facts are accompanied by photographs. Sometimes the facts are about animals, sometimes about a human kid, but not a character we follow through the book (e.g. "The sun sets later. Cal plays outside after supper...Jen walks to school. She wears boots"), which is somewhat jarring.
Simple seasonal facts are accompanied by photographs. Each larger fact is followed by an example ("In summer, animals grow up. Loons teach their babies to fish").
