As a woman, I naturally related to the emotions related in many of these short stories, however given the content I think it is written with a specific audience in mind; excluding some from choosing it to begin with.
'Living on Chocolate' by Dian Curtis Regan is a short story included and it not only speaks to a very specific population of girls who experienced foster care, but also very beautifully explores the feelings associated with that time in life when you feel strangely lost between childhood and womanhood.
