This book has been a classic for many generations. This book is kept in my home and I remember reading this everyday when I was younger. I think the book is a fun activity to introduce to children because everyone knows the story. The students can ask their parents or grandparents about it than build connections. Although I like the idea of this story, it just didn't flow right for me. The author chose great character names and the mystery of who stole the ring was interesting. However, it just seemed odd. This book is part of a series and it might make more sense to me if I read the books that came before this one. I did not realize this when I chose the book.

Child of Faerie; Child of Earth (Author-Jane Yolen, Illustrator-Jane Dyer) New York: Little Brown: 1997

Fairy Tale

Summary: A human child and fairy child meet. They visit each others land and try to get the other to stay in their land. Neither stayed in the others land but with gifts, visited each other until they were very old.

Critique:
This book was very wordy and a little confusing to read as an adult. This may be a little difficult for a child.

Summary (after) If you could visit any land, real or imagined, where would you go? Would you stay if asked? Why or why not?… (more)
