I think this would be a great book for fans of historical fiction, particularly those interested in books surrounding famous artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci. There were a lot of interesting facts about the time and about the history of art incorporated throughout the story.

I got this in a book box and as someone who doesn’t typically like historical fiction, this wasn’t a book I would have picked up otherwise.

As an adult who was once a horse-crazy girl, I can tell you that this will be an instant classic with that demographic. This story, set during the Depression follows two young girls through the challenges of losing their mother, home, and ultimately their father to the Depression. Bea faces all of these challenges as the older sister tasked with caring for her younger sister and finding a way for them to survive. Little does she know that a crazy abused chestnut, a sad older woman, and a menagerie of overlooked people would be just what she needs to survive. This will definitely be a new classic and I know I loved it just as much as any other classic horse tale that I read in my lifetime!… (more)

Strong book. I loved how it had so many actual elements to support this novel. The names and politics confused me but i really loved the main character the world that was built. It was a face pace novel with a amazing lead. It inspired me to be more creative!
