I was really excited to find this "new" CFS/FM book. Unfortunately, it was the least helpful of all the CFS-related books I have read. The chatty writing style might be good for some people who are put off by more medical/science-style writing, but I want information backed up by references of some sort. This book seems to be a hodge-podge of common-sense stuff you might hear in a support group . . . every possible symptom and every possible treatment is listed with no information about how successful it might be. There are no citations (even when the book mentions scientific studies). The reference list is also not very helpful. The book also seems to contradict itself in many places about whether CFS and FM are the same or different disorders.
I'll keep looking for a better book about CFS/CFIDS/ME that provides a better overview of the current state of our understanding about these baffling disorders.
