All-New X-Factor Volume 3: Axis by Pop Mahn

Meh. I can see why this series only lasted 20 issues when it's predecessor lasted over 100. I can also see why I was right to skip it back when it came out. But, completionist gotta complete.

All-new X-factor. Volume 1, Not brand X by Peter David

This was... fine? Probably closer to 2.5 stars. I can't tell if I've outgrown Peter David's writing style or this is just a particularly stilted and awkward arc from him. Hell, maybe in a David comic, a character saying "That's a Doctor Who reference" after the most predictable and obvious Doctor Who reference is a hint the character is evil? But that wasn't the only awkward and weird dialogue in the book, so I'm less inclined to give the benefit of the doubt that it's all intentionally bad. But I guess we'll see.… (more)

Change of decay by Peter David

Mostly fine, like the first volume, but redeemed somewhat in the final issue by adorable Warlock and some nice and long overdue character growth for Pietro.

I'm still sus of Serval, but that might just be because it's a giant corporation claiming to be altruistic.

Magneto Testament by Greg Pak

Well written and well drawn but it felt very rushed. To try to explain the horrors of the entire era of the encampment and slaughter of the Jewish and Romani people of Germany and Europe in just 5, 22 page, issues was maybe a bit overreaching.

Still, worth the read. especially if you already have sufficient holocaust knowledge to fill in the gaps in the narrative.
