About the Author
Joel Greenberg is an educational technology consultant who researches and writes about Bletchley Park and its role in the Second World War. His particular area of interest is how technologies designed and developed there impacted on early computer developments. As a volunteer supporter of Bletchley show more Park, he gives lectures and conducts tours of the site. He is also a part-time member of its management team. Rosamond Welchman is the youngest daughter of Gordon Welchman and a Mathematics and Education Professor Emerita at Brooklyn College. show less

This book seems to be part of Project Passenger Pigeon, which seeks awareness and commemoration of this once great bird, and prevention of future mass exterminations by humans. While they do reference the Long Now Foundation once, I do wish there was more reference to Ben Novak's genomics project with passenger pigeons (maybe Greenberg was too close to publication date, or perhaps it didn't fit in the historical narrative).… (more)
