there's definitely more magic in here than i'm interested in but overall i thought it wasn't totally random to have it, so i appreciated that. what i didn't really like is how the two characters skipped over the part of learning to like each other. that felt really lacking to me. the writing is also so-so at best. but this was still an okay read for me.

3rd in the series. Nina finds love in this in the from of a non-binary bartender, who's briefly in book 1 as well. She also gets incredible power from the lady of the lake. Was first in the series that I've read but did not need the two proceeding to enjoy it.

1st in a series. A young witch returns to her hometown after being gone for nearly a decade. She has tried to make a new life for herself in Chicago. She has returned due to a family obligation. That being that she is the arbiter of a witches tournament between 3 other founding families of the town. Sounds very similar to the tri-wizards tournament in Harry Potter, but is certainly not the case. Fun read and am really enjoyed the book. She goes from despising the town to really finding out she loves it. Also she finds love in one of the contestants.… (more)

Fun fun! Loved the voice and the wit of the prose, found some of the pop-culturisms annoying
