Not bad. Zeke and Sunshine were good together. It's been a while since I read the first one so I was a little lost on the mystery, couldn't quite remember what happened - and I didn't read the second one at all but it mostly came back. I don't really like Sunshine's mum though - she invites this guy into their lives, he kills the grandparents, she doesn't report him or the crime, they spend an extended period of time on the run and totally messes up her daughter but then totally backtracks and ends up with a fiance - that she failed to tell her about, then she ditches her to some guy she doesn't really know and add to all that SHE GETS MARRIED WITHOUT HER DAUGHTER. Sunshine only focuses on this idea that her mother needs her and now she doesn't - but need or not, she still gets married without her daughter there. I'd be pretty fking hurt and I don't really understand why Sunshine is not. Her mother is kind of an asshole. The rest of it was okay though. I like Zeke and him and Sunshine were cute together.… (more)

I love the World of True North that Sarina Bowen has created so I was beyond thrilled to find out that other authors would be writing books set in this world in this new Speakeasy Taproom series. For me Lisa Hughey is a new author and I am very glad to have discovered her as I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Sideways is a great addition to the Speakeasy Taproom books.

Tracey and Colton were fully fleshed out and engaging characters. I greatly enjoyed reading their story and was very much invested in seeing it come to a happy conclusion.

I am excited to read more books that take place in the World of True North and more specifically the Speakeasy Taproom as I know there will be several by a variety of authors coming out soon. This is a relatable place with characters you care for and want to see a happy outcome given to. Speakeasy Taproom is a wonderful series on its own and a great spin off for Sarina Bowen's True North world.… (more)
