Quick fun no-brainer read. Not very detailed, which is a bummer. Mpreg got me by surprise and love to hate progressed too quickly for my liking, but I did enjoy the book and would love to read the second one. Not sure which way to round up, so I am applying good old math rules and going up. 4 stars.

RochieReads | 1 other review | Jan 3, 2019 | Warning: not a book for anyone with triggers around non-consent. Yes, this book is about a werewolf claiming a human, and I therefore expected a certain level of roughness, but the actual rape at the beginning of the book was perpetrated by a human. Personally, I think this was an unnecessary level of violence, but that's just me.
Now, once we get to the werewolf, Hank, claiming his mate, Remy, the situation is slightly different. Even that is a matter of degree and interpretation, so if you read this, be aware you may judge Hank differently. For me what made a huge difference was that he did explain to Remy what was going on (eventually). Even more interesting was the fact he apologized and tried to compromise! Big pluses for the macho guy that showed he might be capable of a real relationship once Remy teaches him what's what. That basic respect of his human mate's needs is what redeemed Hank in my eyes.
Remy has a tough situation to deal with. His instincts say one thing (go with Hank), but his brain and everything he has learned and believes to be right on a rational basis tell him "this cannot be true" and "you cannot trust someone you don't know" which is both correct in the human world. In the eyes of werewolves though, as Remy begins to understand through his tumultuous first few days with Hank, it looks slightly different. He, too, has a few adjustments to make.
If you like rough werewolf love, if you enjoy reading about men who need to figure out how to deal with a mate thrown at them by fate, and if you're looking for a read with lots of rough man-on-man action, you will probably like this short book.

SerenaYates | 1 other review | Oct 19, 2017 | Like for the first book of the series, I have to start this review with a warning: this is not a book for anyone with triggers around non-consent. This sequel is also about a werewolf claiming a human, but this one is even more demanding than Hank (his younger brother) in the fist volume and is looking for a real BDSM relationship, including the title Master.
Needless to say, this does not go well for Ty, the alpha of their pack and the eldest of the four brothers. His mate is the cop investigating the murder from book one, initially believing Remy to be somehow involved. As demanding as Ty is, he quickly finds out that a forced submission is not what he's looking for. I began to develop some respect for him when he backed off, and left the choice to Rafe. That wasn't easy for Ty to do, and he kept doubting himself, but he managed to stick with it. Major points for Ty!
Rafe may be a tough cop, and he is very good at his job, but deep inside he yearns to submit to someone stronger than himself. He never expected that to be a man, never mind a werewolf, and, oh yeah, he's pretty certain Ty fed him some drugs. It's an easy "out" for him, but as time passes he has to admit it can't explain his burning need to be with Ty again. The real mental work he has to complete lies in the reconciliation of who he is in his job versus the type of man he wants to be in the bedroom, or rather the playroom, with Ty. Only then is he able to consider some sort of a longer-term relationship.
If you like rough werewolf love with a healthy dose of D/s, if you enjoy reading about men who need to figure out how to compromise after accepting that it's not a dirty word, and if you're looking for a read with lots of kinky man-on-man action, you will probably like this short book.

SerenaYates | 1 other review | Oct 19, 2017 | This third book in the series veers off in a slightly different direction than the first two. The third brother, Micah, is mated to a werepanther, Theo, but the fact that "cats" and "dogs" don't mix, according to most, is by far the smaller issue. The real problem is a rather unusual one in werewolf-land: Micah doesn't want a mate and does everything to fight his attraction to Theo.
Theo is a panther born in a pride of lions, following his mother's line, not his father's. He's been treated badly by his uncle all along, and once Theo's father dies, the uncle attacks mercilessly. If it weren't for Theo's cousins, who all detest their father, it could have ended badly. So, with this history of rejection, Theo is devastated when Micah doesn't want anything to do with him either. Werecats may not mate for life in this world, but Theo is attracted to Micah and had been looking forward to being part of a couple, being accepted for who he is.
Micah has his reasons for not wanting a mate, and while an objective bystander might raise an eyebrow and call them questionable, they are very real for Micah. He manages to fight the attraction, barely, for a while, and the back and forth almost destroys Theo, but in the end, the need to be with his mate wins out. Not that this puts them in the clear, with a rogue wolf roaming their lands and the murders from book one still needing to be resolved, they have quite the fight on their hands.
When they do come together, it is Theo who demands to be mastered, who wants the pain, and the rough love Micah is happy to give him is just what he was looking for. If you like dominant shifters who behave like idiots before they see the light, if you enjoy reading about men who are total opposites and need to decide if they should even give their relationship a go, and if you're looking for a read with lots of rough man-on-man action, you will probably like this short book.

SerenaYates | Oct 19, 2017 | In this fourth and final volume of ‘The Wolves of Alexis Mountain’ series, he focus in on Paul, the fourth brother, and the mate he unexpectedly finds amongst their enemies. He cannot wait to claim Tristan, but the fact that Tristan has been a slave for a vey long time makes Paul stop to consider what he’s asking from his future mate.
Tristan has been a slave almost since he can remember, with a master who is very cruel. While he feels drawn to Paul, he is not keen to exchange one type of slavery for another. He needs to learn how to trust before he can consider submitting to Paul. Tristan is more than ready to help Paul fight the wolves who used to keep him enslaved, but there is some very bad witchcraft making Tristan and Paul’s life impossibly difficult.
Paul has a lot more anger inside him than he has ever admitted to his brothers. He is also a lot stronger than anyone suspected, and he is quickly finding out how much he’ll have to draw on that strength if he wants to keep his newfound mate safe – and alive. I was happy to see that Paul understands Tristan’s issues about submitting and while his inner wolf howls for Paul to be forceful, Paul lets his human side determine what he does to and with Tristan.
If you like dominant shifters who manage to control their animal sides, if you enjoy reading about men who stat out as enemies but quickly find out how well they fit – only to face more opposition, and if you're looking for a read with lots of rough man-on-man action, as well as a few revelations about the enemies of the Mount Alexis Pack, then you will probably like this short book.

SerenaYates | Oct 19, 2017 | Billionaires live by a different set of rules than most people, and when they happen to be a tiger shifter on top of incredibly rich, you never know what they’ll be up to next. ‘Chained to the Tiger’s Bed’ turned out to be a much more literal description of what Jameson gets up to than I expected. Dylan, the lion shifter who gets “handed over” to Jameson by his father, has no idea what he is in for, but his expectations are not very high. He falls from the shock about his father’s callousness into one surprise after the other, and the result is a scorching story that starts out as a profitable business deal and ends up being a battle for love and affection that neither main character expected when they first met.
Dylan Howell is an omega, which means his pride sees him as less important than his older brothers, and his father sees – and treats - him as stupid and worthless. Despite their lack of a normal father-son relationship, Dylan would have never expected to be “sold” to replace the ten million his father owes Jameson, but can’t pay. Dylan is shocked and scared, especially when Jameson literally chains him to his bed so Dylan can’t run while Jameson is at work. But as Dylan discovers Jameson’s darker sexual urges, he also learns that he likes to be a sub – in the bedroom!
Jameson is in more trouble than he admits. He is not for slavery, nor does he need the money Dylan’s father owes him. He is much more interested in the business, but once he sets eyes on Dylan, he is strongly attracted to him and decides to pretend to take him as payment. Jameson’s sexual tastes do run toward BDSM, and he wants Dylan as his sub, but “owning” him is not part of his agenda. The real problem is resisting his need to claim Dylan as his mate – because tigers and lions don’t bond – or so Jameson has been taught.
Both men have a lot to learn about each other, and not just in the bedroom. While that is very hot and definitely a big part of their relationship in the beginning, there is a lot more to Dylan than Jameson (or I) expected, and it was a lot of fun to find out exactly what that is and how it influenced their relationship, Jameson’s business, and Dylan’s future.
If you like shifter stories with unexpected revelations, if a more dominant male taking charge of one who wants to submit is your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that offers heat, romance, and a few surprises, then you will probably like this novella.

SerenaYates | 1 other review | Oct 14, 2017 | The dubious consent was too much, out of place and not at all hot in my opinion. I am a fan of dubious consent, when certain favorable elements are present. It just wasn't here for me. I stopped reading after the first sexual encounter between the heroes, so I will not rate.

This one is what it is. quick book so it couldn't take a lot of time to work the storyline but it needed more.
I kind of expected something a little different when I picked it up. The two bears don't have a relationship other than friendship between them and at times it strained already. They constantly work against each other, trying to one up the other one. I expected them to be together in a way but they just aren't. Add in Carson and he really is the meat in the sandwich.
Both guys go out of their way to make sure he is good with where they are but at the same time they steam roll him too. He says he needs space and they complain or don't give it to him. They push and push until he does what they want.
I didn't buy the whole GFY here. Carson had never been interested in guys believed himself straight and them bam in 12 hours is with both guys and now a sub who likes a bit of pain. Too much too fast there. I will let a lot slide, it's a bear shifter book so reality is already out the door but this just didn't sit with me at all.
