This book is weird, and I do like and appreciate weird but this was really bad weird. Horrible head scratching dialogue that made me afraid to read any more, annoying characters that just say the darnedest things, but not in the funny or cute way, more...cringe-worthy . "She's mine". She's mine". She's mine". Oh my god, how many times did Martini said that to everyone, and that's on the same day he met Kitty. It was so very annoying, he came across more six year old caveman kid than charming, sexy alien. Listening to the audiobook probably just made things worse too. Maybe I'm wrong, but I figured the story is suppose to be quirky, funny, and youthfully charming, but the narrator's voice sounded too proper and old. Made me detach from the story instead of making me excited to get into. And wow, (bad wow) her male characters sounded like caricatures of male voices, so bad.

Maybe it gets better because I can see that ratings go up with every book and anyway this one does have pretty decent ratings. Expected it would be a fun book to listen to while I keep busy, so I was surprised at how cheesy the whole thing is, and not cheesy in a purposeful way to make me laugh. As of now, I'm still thinking I might try again one day to see if it does get better.

Kitty is very pregnant at the beginning of this volume with a daughter who has powers in the womb. The delivery scenes are way too fantastical with the number of people present and the scope of the action. Due to threats discovered and the people threatened every possible character is brought into the complex for safety, way too many to keep track of. The action is fun and there are many humorous bits throughout, but the whole thing had some dragged out parts. It could have been shortened without losing the flavor. I really did not like the jealous confrontations that Jeff had every time a male got near Kitty. Where's the trust? And why does Kitty have to hold everyone treat them like she's there mother? Not as good as some previous volumes.… (more)

Kitty Katt, her lover, Jeff Martini and the Alpha Team are called to Florida to help figure out what has attached itself to the US spaceship that returned to earth after crashing into something. While trying to figure this out a second plot puts Kitty in the sights of a jealous woman who wants Kitty's old high school boyfriend. Then the whole team is threatened from another front. Nothing is ever quiet where Kitty is. This was a high energy spy action, alien adventure, political conspiracy, humorous romance. A little bit of heart-pumping fun. Love this series.… (more)

Jeff and Kitty set their wedding date and despite Kitty's wedding jitters things move along until she discovers that Jeff is in line to rule Alpha Four. Not only is the dying ruler, Jeff's grandfather sending a diplomatic corpse to test Kitty's fitness to marry a prince but a Council of representatives from other Alpha Centauri planets are coming in opposition. Political intrigue, alien battles, and hidden plots move the action along. All of this was great fun despite the fact that Kitty seems to immaturely push Jeff's jealousy buttons at every opportunity. The last hundred pages dealing with little problems and intrigues around the final planning of and actual event of the wedding dragged. Could have been edited considerably. This was a much weaker volume than the first two.… (more)
