A fascinating and lucid discussion of miracle collections and their authors in England between the late tenth century and about 1200. Rachel Koopmans argues that the flurry of such texts produced then were part of a kind of intellectual fad arising out of the ultimate origin of all saintly cults: storytelling. The discussion of the Knight of Thanet and Osbern of Canterbury's conversation was particularly engaging.
