Auguste Le Breton (1913–1999)

Simpler fare movie. The beginning was especially weak—especially the dialogue and gratuitous nudity. The movie exemplified French attitudes. Quality acting, and most of the characters were interesting. The way the story built and the ending did improve the quality of the story and the movie. I'm not sure how much is cinematography vs editing vs directing—the scene changes had a deliberate lag which made us think our disc was damaged, and seeing this occur on every scene transition, we realized it was deliberate, and a bad call on the filmakers' part.
