Paws In The Proceedings by Deric Longden

An amusing autobiography that is not so much about cats (though they do feature a lot$ but more about the loving and caring relationship between an older and hapless husband with his talented and blind wife. One of the best funny books on disability I've read. I am disabled so I can judge these things.

The sequel to Diana's Story. Deric moves in with a new partner, Aileen, writes a book about Diana's life, and watches his mother grow old and die. Longden blends tragedy and comedy well, and is frank with himself - he knows moving in with his mother is one option, but after years of caring for his first wife and his mother saying she wants to be in a home, they go down that route instead. It is heartbreaking to watch someone so enthusiastic and eccentric fade away as her stroke takes her speech away from her.… (more)
