I liked the author's book [b:Welcome Little One|26457275|Welcome Little One|Sandra Magsamen|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1448832449l/26457275._SX50_.jpg|46459836] better than this one.

The text is the typical saying goodnight to stuff, plus telling the kid they can be anything they want to be. There isn't anything really memorable about it. Rhymes and rhythms are awkward.

I still really enjoy the illustrations, though. Very bright, bold colors, and I like the way everything looks like it was sewn around the edges.… (more)

This is a very cute book. The illustrations resemble pieces of felt in rough shapes with stitches around the edges.

The handwritten-style text is meant as a love letter to a new baby, and the book even has spots in the front to write down baby's birthday stats.

My cousin and his wife bought it for Lily because they heard I wanted to go with some elephant-themed stuff.

When I was sorting out the clothes of the baby I lost, there were elephants on some of them, and someone had also given my new baby a stuffed elephant. So I felt like there was a connection bridging the two there and the elephant imagery became special to me.

We've read the book a few times now, and I cry every time I read the page "We'll show you the beauty of the stars in the sky. Our love will be with you as the years go by."

This is something I literally want to do with my child when she's old enough--go somewhere out in the middle of nowhere, maybe camping, where we can actually see the stars. That plus thinking of the many many happy years that are (hopefully) ahead of us is a tearjerker indeed.

{My thoughts} – The cover of this book is bright and glorious on so many levels. It has the same go to graphic style as all of Sandra Magsamen’s books. I love the graphic style so much! It is a very kid friendly style and it helps to keep kids interested because the things within the pages are recognizable without being overly realistic and boring.

The font used within the pages is also very appealing for children. I often wonder how authors and illustrators come up with the design, because I am always in love with these books. Always, I’ve no complaints. The text within the pages is simple and easy for most younger children to understand without out having too much on the pages that can cause the child to lose interest in the story.

I enjoyed the Bible Stories that are highlighted within the book. They are classics and most children learn or hear of them in Sunday School at a greater length. I suppose you can call these teasers to what will come in the future. These stories are a nice introduction and can help a child begin to understand the importance of the Bible and God.

I look forward to reading and reviewing more books by this author in the near future!

{My thoughts} – I am a huge fan of the books by Sandra Magsamen. I love how she pulls every day things into a book for young children in such a creative manner. I enjoy how the text and the illustrations blend together flawlessly. I enjoy the brightly colored animations and that most illustrations are true to their actual shape and color within the realistic world.

This book is all about nice short little prayers that you can read with your little one. I look forward to sharing these prayers with my littles as they grow up. I am sure that they will be able to learn them in no time! I also am a huge fan of the meal time prayer with in this book!… (more)
