Wow, when this became a tv series it got bland and lame. Also,why would a pirate scarecrow keep away the pests? And jicama's taste & texture are nothing like sweet potatoes, imo.

Too earnest, too derivative, too made-for-TV. If you love the quirky charm of the originals by Hobbie herself, skip the wannabees.
