Wow. Not only rainbow colors, and counting, but also good science. Includes back matter. And it's *meta* (interactive) too! Ages 3-13 can get something out of it.

The only thing not perfect is that sometimes I lost track of which flower is which color. Particularly, indigo is both a flower and a color.

My very own opinion only:
I say plant a real seed instead! Indoors or outdoors, so right now is fine!
I appreciate that there are instructions about easy-to-grow zinnias in the back, but they don't say why to cut the purple flower (the pix show another bud coming later on the same stem, is this accurate??)
Maybe this would work for the very youngest children, to see if they're ready to actually grow something?

Ah... I don't know how to judge! 'Mature' adult me mocks it for being trite, but young mom me, reading it with my little boys, probably would have loved it to pieces. Very short; if you have access to children or an inner child, give it (or one of the companion books) a try.

Moderately interesting and nice illustrations. Grandson not terribly interested.
